Oncology Massage
Though it goes without saying, the experience of cancer is very grueling, both mentally and physically. Massage might seem out of the question for many reasons. What most people don’t realize is that a massage can be tailored to the individual client to support them during this difficult time. The client’s unique situation and cancer treatment protocol are taken into account and adjustments to pressure, positioning and draping are made to ensure a safe and relaxing session.
The experience of receiving a massage can help improve one’s quality of life during cancer treatment by providing a safe space for the client to be right where they are, without any judgment or expectations. It can provide a place to experience healing touch and comfort without the poking and prodding of a doctor’s office. Oncology Massage can also help reduce many of the symptoms that come along with cancer treatment such as pain, muscle stiffness, anxiety, stress and fatigue, and perhaps most importantly, the sense of reconnecting with your own body when it feels like anything but your own.
